ZOMBIE CAPITALISM
The Zombie Capitalism series is produced in extension of the Anthropocene (2021) and Capitalocene (2022) projects, where Oli Sorenson explores more deeply the impacts of humans on Earth’s ecology, and proposes to saturate the exhibition space with an in-situ installation of computer-designed images, using simple geometric shapes and extremely bright colors. Under the remix approach, the artist continues to tap into the Neo-conceptual iconography of Peter Halley, but also draws inspirations from the writings of socialist author Chris Harman to take on this string of works within darker and more anxious settings than his previous production.

La série Zombie capitalisme est réalisée en continuation des projets Anthropocène (2021) et Capitalocène (2022), où Oli Sorenson explore plus profondément les impacts de l’humain sur l’écologie de la Terre, et propose de saturer l’espace d’exposition avec un accrochage in-situ d’images conçues sur ordinateur, aux formes géométriques simples et aux couleurs extrêmement lumineuses. Sous l’approche du remix, l’artiste s’inspire toujours de l’iconographie Néo-conceptuelle de Peter Halley, mais aussi des écrits de l’auteur socialiste Chris Harman pour aborder une thématique plus anxieuse et sombre que sa production précédente.
